We are a dedicated and motivated team of 58 people, located in Newtown, PA, and represent the six brands of our group in the domestic market, providing laboratories with innovative, precise and efficient solutions: Retsch is our specialist in laboratory mills and sieving equipment. Microtrac develops leading solutions for particle characterization. Carbolite supplies high-performance laboratory ovens. Eltra enables precise elemental analysis. QATM takes care of metallographic sample preparation and hardness testing and ERWEKA is our producer of pharmaceutical testing devices. Verder Scientific operates 13 production sites and eleven sales companies worldwide and are part of the German-Dutch technology group Verder, a group of companies with over 2500 employees around the globe. Doing what is fun

  • Receive marketing items, samples, lab equipment, service parts, RMAs, and other goods; inspect quality; store inventory in organized bin locations; and report any damages or discrepancies.
  • Handle shipping for marketing, samples, lab loans, sales orders, and service orders; schedule ground and freight; manage factory returns; prepare BOLs, packing lists, and commercial documents; and record shipment details such as weight and charges.
  • Pack and schedule materials for all‑brand shows; prep lab equipment for loans, demos, and orders; inspect returned equipment; clean and assemble demo units for sale; and ensure all equipment is properly protected.
  • Conduct inventory counts and resolve discrepancies; keep dock and warehouse areas clean and organized; manage supplies; build shelving, crates, and pallets; operate forklift and related equipment; support warehouse moves; assist contractors with plumbing/electrical needs; and report building issues like roof leaks.
  • Communicate daily with the Verder York shipping team; ensure accurate item dispersal; support customer service; schedule inbound shipments; and help obtain contractor quotes.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable 
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, and shipping software preferred
  • Ability to lift 75lbs 
  • Preferred work experience in a shipping & receiving and/or warehouse
  • Experience with Sage 100 and Starship software a plus
