We have an exciting opportunity to step in as Site Director of our UK site in the beautiful Hope Valley in the Peak District. This role will see you taking full P & L responsibility for our 120 employees and £20 million of revenue. Approximately 70% of the turnover is from worldwide export sales. The product range comprises both standard catalogue product as well as high value bespoke furnaces.
Responsibilities & what to expect:
- Focus: successfully lead a high-tech R&D and manufacturing/assembly site where standard and bespoke Capex furnaces are developed and built in an international group of companies. You own the P&L and take full responsibility of the site with 120 employees and approximately £20 Mio revenue.
- Change ownership: analysis and identification of areas of improvement and implementing strategies to increase operational performance and improve efficiency across all business areas.
- Innovation: you thrive in a high-tech environment and as sparring partner for the leadership team create an environment where the exceptional standard of innovation is not only maintained but elevated.

- Stakeholder interactions: transparent communication and reporting of forecasts, EBIDTA, margins etc. as well as successes and challenges to the C-suite in Germany and Netherlands as well as the German Carbolite site.
- Commercial and business acumen: strategically direct activities in response to fast changing international business and industry environments, regulations and compliance, trade.
Education and experience:
- Education: degree in engineering or similar with additional qualifications such as MBA, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Manager or Chartered Director.
- Work experience: sound experience as manufacturing / mechanical engineer and a successful track record in a senior leadership role in an engineering and/or manufacturing organisation is a requirement.
- Performance and efficiency: strong understanding of relevant performance indicators of a manufacturing business with in-house engineering, sales incl. international business and export trade.
- Continuous development: ability to identify and develop continuous improvement strategies to increase efficiency of operations, including existing engineering and manufacturing processes and project management.
- Leadership skills: an inspiring and strong leader who is able to meet employees across all business levels, and has successfully developed managers into leaders incl. finance, engineering, manufacturing, production, commercial.
- Communication skills: highly developed communication and networking skills to present reports, pipelines and forecasts as well as feedback to relevant stakeholders in HQ and the German Carbolite site.
- Additional requirements: present in Hope, travel internationally between UK and Germany and further afield as needed by the business.
