Verder Scientific Science and tradition

When Andre Verder started in 1959, he never suspected what would come of his trading company for pumps. But, from day one he believed in innovation, trustful partnerships and providing the best solutions for his customers' needs. Today, Verder Scientific is still fully owned and managed by the founding family, selling products worldwide with over a thousand employees.Plus, we are still working with Andre Verder's tradition of technical excellence, innovative solutions and finding new ways to solve problems but also anticipating the problems of the future. 

Our history

2020  
RETSCH Technology, Microtrac and MicrotracBel merge into one enterprise for particle characerization: MICROTRAC MRB.

Qness and ATM - Specialists for hardness testing and materialography become QATM.  

2019  
Microtrac and MicrotracBEL become part of Verder Scientific and extend our portfolio with product lines for particle characterization by laser diffraction and adsorption technologies.  

2018  
QNESS joins the VERDER Group, uniting two technological leaders in metallography and hardness testing (ATM and QNESS) under the roof of VERDER SCIENTIFIC.  

2015  
With the acquisition of ATM with 150 employees the VERDER group extends the portfolio of its Scientific Division in the business segment of sample preparation of solids.   

2013  
GERO joins VERDER SCIENTIFIC. Their products extend the existing furnace portfolio of CARBOLITE in the temperature range up to 3000°C as well as for applications under vacuum, inert or reactive atmospheres.   

2012  
ELTRA and CARBOLITE enter the division. Their range of elemental analyzers and furnaces and ovens provides a perfect match to the laboratory and analytical product portfolio.  

2011  
Due to the continuous growth of VERDER SCIENTIFIC new and more spacious facilities for R&D, production, shipping and administration are built in the city of Haan near Duesseldorf (Germany).   

1998  
RETSCH TECHNOLOGY is founded. With its innovative products based on Dynamic Image Analysis the new member of the VERDER SCIENTIFIC Division rapidly develops into one of the world's leading companies for optical particle analyzers. The focus of the VERDER SCIENTIFIC production companies is set on developing new products and improving existing product lines.   

1989  
RETSCH, founded 1915, a world-renowned company for laboratory mills and sieve shakers and inventing the world's first mortar mill — becomes part of the VERDER family, extending the business activities towards scientific equipment. The first cornerstone of VERDER SCIENTIFIC is set.  

1959  
The young Dutch salesman André Verder starts trading pumps and semi-finished plastic products. André continuously expands the activities by acquiring and setting up new members for the VERDER "family of companies".
